Resorts in the Bahamas – Beach Hotels!

Obviously, I have not stayed at every Beach Hotel in the islands of the Bahamas and Caribbean. I have done research on lots of them, but I need my readers’ help!

One of the best resorts I have stayed at in the Bahamas was Atlantis in Nassau. It had everything, from fine dining, a casino, Nassau beaches, and waterslides!! The resort seems to be one of the more famous resorts in the Bahamas too, with even a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie having been filmed there! I very much enjoyed my visit to Atlantis.

Personal Photo from Atlantis in Nassau

Now I want to know about the resorts you have been to on the islands! What was good and bad about them? Would you go back? Let me know in the comments section!

Caribbean Vacations –The Famous Buccoo Reef, Tobago!

Trinidad and Tobago is home to many natural wonders, but no other stands out like Buccoo Reef in Tobago.

©License under Creative Commons: tinscho (2012)
Tobago is home to a wide variety of coral reefs; form most of the soft corals and all the hard corals. Having such a wide variety of coral reefs help to make Tobago home to many tropical marine species, form tropical  fish like the Guppies native to Trinidad and Tobago, to reptiles like the endangered leatherback turtle.

Buccoo Reef is one the most accredited reef in Tobago, with its wide array of corals, and crystal clear water making the view from a glass bottom boat just as beautiful as being up and close. With an access of over 1 million species found on the reefs, Tobago’s underwater experience makes it the most bio-diverse habitat, second to the rainforests. Just as every reef is full of fish, there are always predators around the corner.

Manta Rays, Tobago’s local tropical predator, can be found under the sand waiting for pray, but glimpses of these beautiful fish are pronominal! But beware of the tail; because that is one sting you could do without! Some fishes to look out for while visiting these reefs are the angelfish, parrotfish and blue chromis.

Be sure to make the best out of you Tobago coral reef experience, but ensure you do your part to protect the reefs by respecting the habitat.

Best Outings in Caribbean – fun and excitement!!!

To really have the whole experience when visiting an all-inclusive destination you should try to go on an outing or two!

Going on an excursion is an amazing way to experience all that the island has to offer. It’s usually booked on the day or day after you arrive and it’s paid for at that time. Usually your travel company has set up a booth in the hotel and a representative will talk about all the different trips you can take. An example would be going Jamaica and visit Dunn’s River Falls, or the Bob Marley Tour.Another would be the history in Havana,Cuba! These trips are above and beyond the package price, so bring extra money or credit card.

Are you ready to fully experience the island? It’s definitely a sight to see.

Caribbean Vacations –All Inclusive Beach Side Hotels, Cuba!

Weddings can be crazy for those getting married and those planning, but those at Memories Paraiso Azul resorts in Cayo Santa Maria Cuba were amazing making my family’s wedding trip remunerable.

It was our first time doing a weeding get away trip, no one knew what to expect and for most it was their first time doing something like it. As it was a family trip we chose to take an all inclusive package at Memories Paraiso Azul resorts in Cayo Santa Maria Cuba. Though the food could have used a kick, the drinks were all we needed! The sun was bright, and the staffs were friendly making out trip even more relaxing.

The wedding was a blast with a beach ceremony followed by a cocktail hour, then dinner and reception. It was the first time that Memories Paraiso Azul had ever hosted a wedding with over 40 people.  The reception was a highlight of the wedding as my cousin was able to bring his DJ set and rock the house. Though I wish the party could have lasted longer than 11, but hey that’s what the club was for!

Best Caribbean Snorkeling in the Bahamas – And Snorkeling Tips!

Snorkeling is an easy and perfect activity for your trip in the Caribbean, especially in the Bahamas. Many will ask, “Where are coral reefs found?” well the islands of the Caribbean, of course!

There are a lot of beaches in the Bahamas that are specific for Caribbean snorkeling, or you can take a boat out from one of the islands to a coral reef. My suggestion if you are visiting Grand Bahama, you should take a look at Deadman’s Reef.

Personal Photo from Deadman's Reef
This Caribbean coral reef is just a short swim from the island shore! You can rent all your gear there, they have experts that will teach you the basics, and then you’re off! You can swim for as long as you want, and come back to shore whenever you’re ready, instead of being stuck out on a boat with others. The reefs are beautiful and you can see a variety of fishes and other ocean wildlife right up close!

I highly suggest this Caribbean coral reef! Tell me about a coral reef you want to visit!

Best Island Beaches – Bahamas

The islands of the Bahamas have many, many beaches. So many that it can be hard to figure out which are best!

Each Bahamas beach, or even the entire Caribbean, has its own unique specialty! All are beautiful in their own way. Many experts have rated these beaches and chosen the best ones for visitors. Frommer’s has a perfect guide to Bahamas beaches with a detailed description of each. You can read through their lists and decide which beach is the best fit for you. Determine what activity you feel like doing, maybe you want to relax on a quiet beach, or have a few drinks on a busier beach. Go through the list and choose the best beach for you!

Scuba Diving in Jamaica

Scuba Diving in Jamaica
An Adventure in the Ocean!

Tropical Fishes, Coral Reefs, and rays are all things you will find snorkeling in the Caribbean. Get ready to see and feel some amazing sights!

Before seeing this astonishing view you must first practice before taking over the ocean! Usually you practice in the pool, which is a great practice run.

Now remember a few things;
  • Stay calm
  • Breathe through your mouth
  • Relax your body
  • Enjoy the sights that Jamaica has to offer

I personally went scuba diving in Jamaica in Ocho Rios, we took the boat out and that was a crazy experience. It’s like you are just a fish in a big wide world under the water. If you’re looking for fun activities in the Caribbean snorkeling is a must.

P.S. Bring an underwater camera to capture the moments!

Best Beach in Dominican Republic

Ready to relax on the best white sands of Dominican Republic? I know I am!

Best beaches in the Dominican Republic would have to be located in Punta Cana. Punta Cana has many beautiful beaches but one of the best would have to be Bavaro Beach. White sand, calm waters is ranked very high for this location. It’s the jewel on Dominican Republic.

I’ve seen this personally and it’s still one of the best beaches in the Caribbean for me. Its rich in lush with great palm trees, and greenery yet you see clear calm waters and white sands or miles.

What is your favourite sand to hide your toes in?

Best White Sands – Bahamas Beach

The Caribbean islands are known for their white sandy beaches. Bahamas beaches have some the best white sands I have ever come across.

I visited both Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas and both islands have beaches with beautiful white sand. All along the islands there is unique and beautiful white sand. One beach in particular is gold rock beach, with miles and miles of white sand when the tide is out, this is a perfect beach for pictures.

Personal Photo I took in Freeport, Bahamas
All of the beaches along the chain of islands have white sand that feels wonderful between your toes as you take a nice stroll down the beach. In the picture above, you can see how you can enjoy a nice “Sands” Beer, the Freeport brewed beer, right on the white sand beach. So relax, kick off your flip flops, and enjoy what these islands have to offer!

Have you been to any white sand beaches in the Caribbean? Let us know in the comments below!

Most Fun Filled Beaches

Never a dull moment!

Are you getting bored just laying in the sun and melting away….well get up and enjoy what the beach and resort have to offer!

If you’re tired of just laying around the beach there are many exciting things to do if you chose to do so. Beach sports are always a part of the experience like beach volley, or aqua dancing, even beach soccer. If you’re not ready to be that active you can take part in aqua aerobics, or walking up and down the coast, or even a swim in the ocean. There are lots of activities in the sun you can participate in.

According to Caribbean travel magazine, www.caribbeantravelmag.com snorkeling in Bonaire, surfing in Puerto Rico and wind sports in Barbados. These are some of the most fun filled beaches the Caribbean has to offer, and you can do these activities in your own resorts too.

Keep your eyes down in the sand of close to and Seaweed as you may also be lucky enough to see a Sea Turtle swimming around!

Caribbean Vacations: Caribbean Snorkeling – What You Need to Know!

Crystal clear waters, exotic marine life, and exciting corals make for one exciting Caribbean vacation! Here are a few tips to remember while you do a little Caribbean snorkeling!

Equipment: Equipment is everything; consider bringing your own as it would reduce the time spent trying to make it comfortable leaving more time for you to enjoy the wonders!
Renting? Sometimes the cheapest equipment may not always be the best choice, choose the one that fits your face perfectly.

Safe Sunscreen: Make sure you protect your skin and the reefs! Some sunscreen may be banned around the coral reefs that you may be exploring as the chemicals can come off and potentially harm the reefs.

Know Your Surroundings: If you are using a guide, they can better tell you what to keep an eye out for, as some coral reefs such as the fire reefs can sting you or the wild life can potentially harm you.

Think Ahead: You may be an Olympic swimmer, but remember there are many factors which can result in fatigue. Wear proper floatation devices this will help you to stay afloat, and just may save you from a nasty cut from drifting into a coral.

Remember to check with your hotel for any snorkeling day trips, prices usually run between $50-$100 USD. A guide is usually the best choice for your first venture out.

Caribbean Vacations – The Best Coral Reef in the Caribbean!

For your next Caribbean vacation what coral reef would you look out for?

©License under Creative Commons: Lars Plougmann (2013)
The Caribbean is home to many sights, both on land and under water. But it’s the underwater life that brings in the bucks. Trinidad and Tobago is home to Buccoo Reef which is said to be the best the Caribbean. Do you agree?

Looking at my back examination of Buccoo Reef my blog “Caribbean Vacations –The Famous Buccoo Reef, Tobago!” I sure believe that it just may be the best!

Some argue that Champagne in Dominica can give Buccoo Reef a run for its money! Champagne has been known for how its sea horses and frogfish accompany swimmers on their exploration. But is the wild life as extensive and diverse as that in Tobago.

Each island has its own unique experience. How would you base your coral reef destination? Would it be through the tropical diversity or by the tropical interaction like that in Champagne Dominica?

What type of experience would you want?

"Gold Rock Beach" - An Adventure

We've all seen the Disney movies Pirates of the Caribbean, right? If not I highly suggest you go out ASAP and watch them!

Well, some scenes in the movie series were filmed on a beach in the Bahamas, called Gold Rock Beach. It is a long and very white sandy beach, perfect for the film. When I visited I knew I had to go there, you know, stand where the great Johnny Depp has stood!

When I got there, the beach was closed…but that didn't stop me. I still walked the beautiful path down to the beach and spent half an hour running around the beach while the tide was out. A very fun adventure!

Has anyone else visited Gold Rock Beach? Share you experience!
